About us

Iranian rail sector was partly and gradually privatized since 2005 in three steps. At first Railway Co. of Iran( RAI) disposed all their wagons to private sector. Then some rail traction companies established by private sector but RAI did not dispose its own locomotives. Simultaneously all the factories and the repair centers released to private sector management. By doing so, some ten passenger rail companies and thirty freight carrying firms were formed.

In the freight sector, almost all firms are specialized in narrow fields such as iron ore carriage, oil derivatives, LPG, container, wheat carriage, and a few general cargo.

Ultimately, RAI remained the track owner, widely traction owner, policy maker, railway sector supervisor and regulator. An independent regulator is yet to come through Iran’s Competition Council.

The founder of Fartak Logistics Development last position is RAI general manager in charge of transportation engineering. He served too as acting CEO of Parsian Rail Sharg Corp. by far the biggest wheat contractor of Government Trading Co.(GTC), the biggest importer of wheat, cereals, grain, vegetable oils, etc. He also served in RAI affiliated downstream companies for some three years.

But his main job track was in Mubarakeh Steel Mills Corp. for some ten years as top management in their logistics sector. Now Mubarakeh Steel Mills runs their own railroad companies and per se procures for some 50% of all cargo shipped by railways every year.

He served or continues to do so as head of Iran Chamber of Commerce, industries and mines railway committee in the heart of Transportation and Logistics Commission, inter alia member of transportation committee in the Research Center of National Parliament, member of Think Room of Iran Ports and Shipping Org., and many advisory and managerial positions at Isfahan Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Mines.

Many successful years of service in logistics sector made him to establish Fartak Logistics Development to invest, build-up the vast experience and connections into a private sector company so that to exploit the knowledge in practice especially in Steel and Wheat sectors. He joined hands with Homayoun Assadi, owner, Chairman of Veresk Railcars Corp. ( a private railroad Co. in Oil and Gas field), Researcher, Author and Instructor at Tehran University MBA logistics course and a widely known figure in logistics.
